Read the passage in context
The audience, chapter, purpose, key words, and surrounding argument are carefully considered.
Compare Scripture with Scripture
Clear passages establish doctrine and prevent difficult texts from being isolated or misused.
State the biblical conclusion
Misconceptions are answered directly, and the truth is explained with clarity and conviction.
Begin with the first issue
Examine the verses commonly used against eternal security and see how salvation, fellowship, chastening, reward, and false profession must be carefully distinguished.
