THE GOSPEL · LESSON 03
DOES GOD WANT ME TO BE SAVED?
Yes. God does want you to be saved. He is not willing that you should perish. He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, so sinners can receive forgiveness and eternal life through faith in Him.
God’s desire is not hidden. Scripture reveals Him as the Saviour who calls people out of sin and into truth. He does not tell sinners to rescue themselves. He provides salvation through His Son and invites them to come to Him.
God is holy and He must judge sin, but He does not delight in the destruction of the wicked. His warning is not cruelty. It is mercy. He calls sinners to turn from their sin and receive the life He gives.
God did not merely say that He loves sinners. He proved His love through Jesus Christ. Christ came into the world, died for sin, and rose again so guilty people could be forgiven and brought back to God.
The gospel invitation is not only for people who seem religious, strong, or worthy. It is for sinners. Christ receives those who come to Him by faith. You do not need to clean up your life before coming to Him. Come honestly as a sinner who needs His mercy.
God’s desire for you to be saved does not remove the need for a response. He calls every person to repent and believe the gospel. To repent is to turn to God, agreeing with Him about sin and trusting Christ alone for salvation.
Yes, God wants you to be saved. He does not want you to perish. He sent Jesus Christ to die for sinners and invites you to turn to Him, trust Christ, and receive the salvation He freely gives.
