HOW CAN I BE SAVED?
Before asking how a person can be saved, we must first ask, “Saved from what?” The Bible teaches that man needs to be saved from sin, death, judgment, condemnation, and the wrath of God. Salvation is not merely becoming religious, improving your life, or joining a church. To be saved means to be rescued by God through Jesus Christ.
A person is saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the Scriptures. The sinner must repent toward God and believe the gospel.
Salvation means being delivered from condemnation and the wrath of God, forgiven of sins, justified before God, and given eternal life through Jesus Christ.
The unbeliever is not waiting to become condemned someday. Jesus said he is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Salvation rescues a person from this condemnation.
Salvation is deliverance from the wrath of God. The person who believes on the Son has everlasting life, but the person who rejects the Son remains under God’s wrath.
This verse clearly says believers are saved from wrath through Christ. Salvation is not only rescue from a bad lifestyle. It is rescue from God’s righteous judgment against sin.
Sin earns death, but God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ. Salvation rescues sinners from the wages of sin and gives them eternal life as God’s gift.
The jailer asked the direct question: “What must I do to be saved?” The answer was not to trust religion, works, or self-righteousness. The answer was to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the gospel by which sinners are saved: Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Salvation rests on Christ’s finished work, not on man’s religious effort.
Salvation is by grace through faith. It is not of ourselves and not of works. If salvation were earned by man, man could boast. But salvation is God’s gift through Jesus Christ.
Salvation involves faith in the risen Lord Jesus Christ. The sinner must believe from the heart, not merely repeat religious words without true faith.
The promise is open to whosoever. Any sinner who truly calls upon the Lord in faith can be saved. Salvation is not limited by background, past sins, nationality, or personal history.
Even works that appear righteous cannot save. God saves according to His mercy. This protects the gospel from human pride and points all glory to God.
Salvation is only in Jesus Christ. No other name, religion, system, or human effort can save the soul. Christ alone is the Saviour.
Jesus said that the person who does not believe is condemned already. This means salvation is not a small religious improvement. It is deliverance from a real condition of condemnation before God.
The unbeliever remains under the wrath of God, but the believer has everlasting life through the Son. This is why salvation must not be delayed, ignored, or replaced with religion.
Salvation will change a person, but being saved is more than self-improvement. To be saved means to be rescued from sin, condemnation, death, judgment, and the wrath of God through Jesus Christ.
The Bible says salvation is not of works. Good works cannot erase sin, remove condemnation, or satisfy God’s justice. Salvation is by grace through faith.
Sincerity does not remove condemnation. Jesus said the one who does not believe is condemned already. The issue is not sincerity alone, but whether a person has believed on the Son of God.
Calling upon the Lord is not empty speech. It is the response of faith from a sinner who understands his need and turns to Jesus Christ as the only Saviour.
To ask, “How can I be saved?” is to recognize that man is in danger without Christ. The unbeliever is already condemned and remains under the wrath of God. This is why salvation is urgent.
Salvation is not found in church membership, baptism, good works, law-keeping, emotional experience, or religious identity. Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
The sinner must stop trusting himself and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. God saves by grace through faith, not by works. The saved person is forgiven, justified, delivered from wrath, and given eternal life.
To be saved means to be rescued by God from sin, condemnation, death, judgment, and the wrath to come. The unbeliever is condemned already, but Jesus Christ came to save sinners. The answer is clear: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
