WHY DO I NEED A CHURCH?

A church cannot save your soul. A pastor cannot forgive your sins. Good attendance cannot give eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Saviour. The church is important after salvation, but it must never replace Christ or the Gospel.

Saved people gathered and continued together. In the book of Acts, those who received the Word were baptized and continued with the believers. They did not treat salvation as a private event with no fellowship, teaching, or visible obedience.

A faithful church helps believers grow. A local church is not just a place to attend. It is an assembly where believers are taught, strengthened, corrected, encouraged, and equipped for service under the authority of Scripture.

The church should uphold the truth. A faithful church does not invent its own message. It stands under the authority of God’s Word and holds forth sound doctrine. The church is not a replacement for Scripture; it must be governed by Scripture.

You need faithful preaching and teaching. God gave pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry, and the edifying of the body of Christ. A new believer needs more than motivation. He needs sound doctrine from the Word of God.

A faithful church preaches the Word. A church should not be built on entertainment, personality, emotion, or tradition. The central charge is clear: preach the Word. A believer should seek a church where the Bible is opened, explained, believed, and obeyed.

Believers help carry burdens. A Christian will face weakness, temptation, sorrow, confusion, and trials. God uses other believers to exhort, comfort, correct, pray, and encourage. Fellowship is not only social; it is spiritual care.

You need a place to serve. The Christian life is not only receiving. Believers are also called to serve. A faithful church helps you use your life for God, care for others, support the work of the Gospel, and grow in usefulness.

A believer should identify with other disciples. When Saul came to Jerusalem, he sought to join himself to the disciples. A saved person should not remain disconnected forever. A believer should become known among faithful believers and walk with them in truth.

Not every church is spiritually healthy. A building with a religious name is not enough. A new believer should choose carefully. Look for a church that clearly preaches the Gospel, believes the Bible, teaches sound doctrine, honors the Lord Jesus Christ, and encourages holy living.

Why do I need a church? A Biblicalist does not treat church as a human tradition only. Scripture shows believers assembling, continuing in doctrine, praying, serving, being taught, and helping one another grow.

A church is made of people who still need growth. Do not expect a perfect congregation. But do not use imperfection as an excuse to forsake fellowship. At the same time, do not ignore serious false doctrine, spiritual abuse, or a church that refuses the authority of Scripture. Be humble, careful, and Bible-grounded.
